Who we are
Fairley Decorating is a painting and decorating business based in Blandford Forum, Dorset. We are responsible for any personal information you give us through this website, by phone or by email.

What we collect
When you send an enquiry through our quote form, we collect:
- your name
- your email address
- your phone number, if you choose to give it
- the type of job and anything you tell us about it
If you contact us by phone or email, we keep the same kind of details. We only ask for what we need to reply to you and quote for the work.
How we use it
- To reply to your enquiry, arrange a visit and prepare a quote.
- If you go ahead, to carry out the work, invoice you and deal with any follow-up.
- To keep the business records we are required to keep by law.
We will never use your details for marketing without asking you first, and we never sell or rent them to anyone.
Our lawful basis
Under UK data protection law, we use your information because:
- you have asked us to quote, so we need it to take steps before a contract
- if you hire us, we need it to carry out the contract
- we have a legal obligation to keep tax and accounting records
Who we share it with
We only share your information with services that help us run the business, and only so they can do that job for us:
- our website host, Cloudflare
- the service that delivers quote form enquiries to our inbox
- our email provider
- our accountant, if you become a customer
We will not share your information with anyone else unless the law requires us to.

How long we keep it
- Enquiries that don't lead to any work are deleted within 12 months.
- Customer records are kept for six years after the job is finished, as required by HMRC.
Your rights
You have the right to ask us for a copy of the information we hold about you, to correct it, to delete it, or to object to or restrict how we use it. To make a request, use the contact details above. We will reply within one month.
